A Whole Lotta VBS

A Whole Lotta VBS

The Great Wall of China, hot air balloons, Mount Everest, tropical rain forests, deep dark caves.  What do these things have in common?  They have all been key themes to our VBS programs.  And they are just a tip of the iceberg in regards to the level of epicness (it’s a word, I promise) we bring to reaching our kids.  VBS is such a dynamic ministry opportunity because we are positively impacting and encouraging our kids in house with their walk with Christ.  And we also have many kids from outside our normal group, from within our local community that come to see the spectacle we put on.  From over the top decorations, to outlandish skits and presentations, to constant care and affection from every worker, we pull off an awesome VBS.

I expect this year to be no different and would love to up our game from years past.  Our theme this year is Caves, and Group (the company that designs our VBS Curriculum) does an outstanding job of drawing from The Bible, God’s Creation, and the kids everyday life to show them that God is in all, and through all.  There’s no escaping Him, Mwuahahahahaha…. sorry…. that got weird…

Anyway, you may be asking yourself what we need to pull off another VBS of epic proportions, especially since you just read that question to yourself.  You.  We need you.  We need people.  We need help constructing and preparing all our elaborate decorations.  We need hands to make snacks and put up bible verse posters.  We need arms to hug, and push, and elbow kids.  We need faces to smile and show these kids how fun it is to be a part of the Kingdom of God.  There is no such thing as too many helpers.  If you can’t help during VBS, then come early and help Kristin Fowler with decorations and designs.  Come after and help reset the class rooms and hallways.  If you can make it during the week of June 20th -24th, be a runner, be a walker, be a sitter.  We have tasks for anyone and everyone.  Let’s come together as the full body at New Covenant Church and serve our kids and our community.  But bring your smiles with you, because we put frowny faces in the dunking booth.
