Paint the Town Orange

One major thing I love about the curriculum we use in our Kingdom Kids (1st-5th grade) and K4C (4 and 5 year olds) ministries on Sunday mornings, is how much is available to us for ministry.  The people at ORANGE (the company we get our curriculum from) do a great job of providing many different ways to get a common message across to our kids.  Pastor Steve and had the opportunity to go down to a Children’s Ministry Conference a few years ago and were very impressed by their saturation methods.  They know we can most easily and effectively reach our kids with His truth, by finding lots of different ways to share the same message.  From the slides......

Church Isn’t Just For Big People

From our safe and nurturing nurseries to our high-energy Kingdom Kids, New Covenant offers lots of opportunities for kids to learn about God on both Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. I recently had the opportunity to hear from Patty Schlosser who serves in Kingdom Kids (Kids Church on Sunday morning) and hear what she had to say. Patty told me, “the time together in Kingdom Kids is high energy, fun and gets the kids involved. We encourage lots of involvement using skits and games. A Whole Lotta VBS

The Great Wall of China, hot air balloons, Mount Everest, tropical rain forests, deep dark caves.  What do these things have in common?  They have all been key themes to our VBS programs.  And they are just a tip of the iceberg in regards to the level of epicness (it’s a word, I promise) we bring to reaching our kids.  VBS is such a dynamic ministry opportunity because we are positively impacting and encouraging our kids in house with their walk with Christ.  And we also have many kids from outside our normal group, from within our local community that come to see the spectacle we put on.  From over the top decorations, to outlandish skits and presentations, to......

LOL

LOL

So, I know what you’re thinking. What kind of family pastor scares his own children every time he sneezes?  Let me explain.  I have a big mouth! I’m reminded of  a picture of myself in high school with the bottom of a glass Coke bottle in my  mouth. I also won an apple eating contest at Elim by eating a rather large apple in three bites, and I have been utilized for making announcements when a PA system or bull horn is not available. I have a rather extensive resume on the feats of my overly large and unnecessarily loud mouth, but seriously, what does that have to do with anything? Well, I want to encourage you, both young,......

Welcome Aboard, Pastor T

Tyler Kelce recently joined the staff full-time as Family Pastor, a new position for NCC.  He will provide guidance, energy, oversight, and daily direction to all aspects of ministry from our infants through High School students. He will implement New Covenant’s vision and values throughout children and student ministries, and will work with church leadership to provide support and encouragement to parents. Tyler started attending NCC in 1996 at the age of 13; he came to the youth meetings with his brother, Chris, during Pastor Mark’s time as Youth Pastor.  After high school, Tyler attended Elim Bible Institute (NY) where he took the Pastoral Ministry track, along with all the Bible courses required.  While at Elim, he volunteered at......
