Church Isn’t Just For Big People
by NCC Staff
From our safe and nurturing nurseries to our high-energy Kingdom Kids, New Covenant offers lots of opportunities for kids to learn about God on both Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. I recently had the opportunity to hear from Patty Schlosser who serves in Kingdom Kids (Kids Church on Sunday morning) and hear what she had to say.
Patty told me, “the time together in Kingdom Kids is high energy, fun and gets the kids involved. We encourage lots of involvement using skits and games. The themes change monthly including a new memory verse to learn. The kids are learning practical Christianity through Bible stories related to their world. We learn how Jesus calls us to live, and how he equips us to do so. I love talking with the kids about God’s great love for them and how they can share that love with those around them”.
There are currently 30-40 kids attending Kingdom Kids. Patty said, “it’s always bittersweet to see our 5th graders
graduate after five years with them in Kingdom Kids, but I love welcoming a whole new crew when the rising first
graders move up from K4C to join us each fall”.
What Patty really enjoys is “ministering together as a family! All six Schlossers will be Kingdom Kids staff when our caboose joins us in September. Team Schlosser will be complete! We love serving the Lord together”.
Patty’s been serving in Kingdom Kids for over eight years! “Time flies when you’re having fun. And we do!”
